Kimberly LeBouef was born in Knoxville, Tennessee. Kimberly studied nutrition, receiving her Bachelor’s degree at Carson-Newman in Tennessee. She received her Master’s degree from Finch University part of the Chicago Medical School. She completed an internship at Oakwood College and became a registered dietitian. She moved to Crossville in 1994 and worked in several positions across the Upper Cumberland region serving clients in health departments, dialysis centers and long term care centers. While completing her Master’s degree, She took several classes which focused on woman’s health and alternative therapies, such as herbal medicine and essential oils. These classes only fueled Kimberly’s interest in holistic medicine.
She was fortunate to attend yoga classes with Rebecca Dennis.Kimberly found she could do poses in Rebecca’s classes that she could not do in other classes. Rebecca’s style of teaching, which offered simple modifications without making the student feel they were not keeping up, is unique and hard to find in Crossville. Rebecca hosted a workshop on New Year’s Day, dedicated to starting the new year off with positive intentions. For the first time in a long time, yoga was able to still Kimberly’s mind and soothe her spirit. Kimberly attended two of Rebecca’s yoga institutes at Grey Bear and discovered the magic of mediation. When Rebecca offered teacher training in Crossville, Kimberly knew without a doubt that if she was ever going to take teacher training, it had to be with Rebecca. At first the teacher training was only a way to get herself motivated to improve her own health and find a way to stay grounded in the busy life of a mom to three, a wife whose spouse works out of town all week and a regional dietitian for southeast Kentucky and eastern Tennessee. However, as the 200 hour training continued, Kimberly became aware of how many people could benefit from yoga if only they were not so intimidated by a fitness class.
Many of her friends commented that they wanted to do yoga but felt they couldn’t keep up, they weren’t flexible, they had too many medical issues, etc. As a result, Kimberly chose to become a teacher and began to focus on helping all bodies enjoy the benefits of yoga – body, mind and spirit.
This is your opportunity to try yoga in a small class and beautiful space with a very spirited teacher. Do it for you!
